A HOST of first-team players are set to feature for Colchester United's under-23s tonight.

Luke Norris, Kwame Poku and Courtney Senior have all been named in the U's squad for their game against Coventry City, at the JobServe Community Stadium (kick-off 7pm).

Omar Sowunmi, Tafari Moore, Ryan Clampin, Michael Fernandes and goalkeeper Ethan Ross are also set to feature for Richard Hall's side, in their Professional Development League Two game.

Colchester boss John McGreal has said he is mulling over making changes to his starting line-up, in the wake of back-to-back defeats in League Two.

The U's slumped to a 3-0 loss at Port Vale last weekend, which came hot on the heels of their 3-2 home reverse at the hands of Grimsby Town, last Tuesday.

Now a number of senior players will get the chance to impress boss McGreal as they bid for a place in his side for their game at Salford City, on Saturday.

Speaking after the Vale game, McGreal said: “I have to think about changes.

“They’ve done unbelievably well to get ourselves into this position (prior to the Port Vale game).

“But sometimes when you’re looking at a continual mistake, something has to be done about it and that’s what we’ll try and do throughout the week.

“There’s a lot of hard work on the training ground and then we’ll see how the boys react."

Colchester's under-23s are still looking for their first win in 2020.

They lost 4-1 at Charlton Athletic in the Premier League Cup last week, with Sammie McLeod bagging the U's consolation.

U's season-ticket Holders can attend tonight's game free of charge on production of their season-ticket card.

Tickets for non U's season-ticket holders are priced at £10 for adults, £7 concessions, £5 under-18s and £3 for under-14s, while under-11s go free.
