TWO sides with promotion firmly in their sights are set to go head-to-head at the JobServe Community Stadium tonight.

While Colchester United's proud unbeaten run has taken them to the cusp of the play-off zone - only goal difference is keeping them outside the top seven - visitors Bradford City are flying high in fifth place, breathing down the necks of both Crewe Alexandra and Plymouth Argyle.

In fact, they are only two points behind both, meaning a positive result tonight could hoist them up into the automatic spots (although Crewe are also in action at Macclesfield Town).

Gary Bowyer's men have only won two of their previous five matches but are clearly a tough nut to crack, having lost just one of their last ten League Two outings.

Six of those ten matches have been draws so they will be keen to start converting single points into three.

The recent defeat was a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Crawley Town but the Bantams responded with a 2-2 draw at home to Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

That said, they will also have been disappointed not to win after leading 2-0.

Quickfire first-half goals from Hope Akpan and James Vaughan put them firmly in charge but former Bradford loanee Alex Gilliead reduced the deficit and John McAtee equalised.

Goalkeeper Luke McGee made his debut after joining on loan from Portsmouth.

The 24-year-old, a former Tottenham Hotspur trainee, has not featured for League One Pompey this season and was signed after Bantams number one Richard O'Donnell was ruled out for up to a month with a hamstring injury.

Tonight's fixture is Bradford's third away fixture in four games and they are back on their travels on Saturday, when they visit Mansfield Town.
