SOUTHEND United will be back training at Boots & Laces for the first time since March today - but there will be no manager there to greet them.
The Shrimpers have not been at their training ground for five months due to the coronavirus pandemic which also cut short last season.
But Blues will be kicking off their preparations for the next campaign today, initially beginning in groups of five due to the return to training protocol.
Southend’s under 23 coach Craig Fagan is expected to take training and remains in the hunt to be the next first team boss.
Barnet manager Darren Currie is still the favourite to replace Sol Campbell but Steve Tilson is also still in the running for a return to Roots Hall.
