Writtle Wanderers secured a much-needed league victory to take maximum points against May & Baker at Fox Burrows Lane.
Writtle won the Essex Canterbury Jack League 1A clash 29-12.
The game started well for Writtle and a quickly taken penalty saw the back line work the ball to George Ketley to score in the corner.
But, from a resulting scrum, Writtle were pushed back and May & Baker scored their first try.
The second half began well for the Wanderers as the kick-off was collected and driven back - Sid Wright selling the defender a dummy before offloading to captain Andy May to score.
Kieran Redfern finished off a fine move for the next score and the bonus point was to follow shortly afterwards. Gywn Taylor’s reverse pass put a supporting May away for his second score and the bonus point try.
The visitors dotted down before May completed his hat-trick to wrap up a fine win.
