CHELMSFORD City right-back Richard Brindley has been recognised for his excellent Clarets form after npower Football League Two club Chesterfield made him their new signing.
Former Norwich City youngster Brindley joined Chelmsford at the start of this season and secured a regular place in the team at full-back, impressing Manager Glenn Pennyfather with a number of Man of the Match performances.
Glenn said: “Although we’re sorry to see Richard go, as he’s a brilliant player and person, I couldn’t be happier for him as he deserves his chance at league level.
"It’s also a proud moment for the club to have another player elevated into the league whilst playing for us.”
“Producing the goods on the pitch on a regular basis won’t go unnoticed, and it benefits us at the same time.
"It shows that Chelmsford City is the perfect environment for promising players to develop and it gives our other talents an incentive.”
