Police have cordoned off the area in Greene View, Braintree
Police are investigating an unexplained death in Braintree.
A cordon has been put up at the bottom of Greene View after a body was found earlier today.
Around half a dozen police and rapid response vehicles have been seen blocking off the road, with a lot of blue tape also blocking off an area of grass just off Greene View.
A forensic investigation is among the vehicles at the scene.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in the Greene View area of Braintree at around 2.25pm on Friday, May 17.
"We attended but, sadly, the man died at the scene.
"The death is being treated as unexplained."
Officers have been seen conducting door to door enquiries.
