The makers of Celebrations advent calendars have been accused of 'ruining Christmas'.

The popular calendar is stocked full of favourites such as Mars, Snickers and Twix.

But on the first day, when chocolate fans ripped open door number one of their calenders they were met with the worst possible thing...a Bounty!

And to make matters worse - much worse - when they woke up on the second day the makers played the same cruel trick again offering distraught chocoholics another Bounty.

Chelmsford Weekly News:

Users were relieved to discover a Mars behind door number three, but for many the damage was already done.

One disappointed customer wrote: "Just a heads up, anyone who has a Celebrations advent calendar and was disheartened that day one was a Bounty, well guess what...

"I got peckish and went to eat day two a few hours early and that’s a ****ing Bounty too, whole calendar is going in the bin. Christmas is CANCELLED."

The folks at Celebrations seemed to have fun with it though. They replied to tweets with cartoons including LOL spelled out using Bountys, a man throwing Bountys in the air with the caption 'Bountys for everyone', and two Bountys playing electric guitars alongside the message: "Name a more iconic duo. We'll wait..."

Chelmsford Weekly News:

And, it's fair to say not everyone was distraught. @Dazza2626 offered to take all the unwanted Bounty's off anyones hands.

He Tweeted: "Anyone who doesn't like bounty chocolate from ur celebrations tubs I'm setting up a bounty donation center at my gaff this Christmas and all donations are welcome for ur unwanted bounty chocs."

A spokesperson for Mars told the Daily Mirror: "“We all have our favourites – Bounty might be the last chocolate left in tub for some people, but for others two advent Bounty treats in a row get their season off to a great start!

"Don’t worry, there’s something for everyone in the calendar – no peeking on what comes next!”
