MORE than 37,000 people in Maldon have received their first Covid jab according to the latest figures.
NHS data shows 37,191 people had received a vaccine jab by April 11 – 68 per cent of those aged 16 and over, according to the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Of those vaccinated, 30,613 were aged 50 and over – 97 per cent of the age group.
It means 6,578 people aged between 16 to 49 have received a first dose of the vaccine.
Areas with the highest coverage:
• Great Totham, Wickham Bishops & Woodham, 74.9 per cent
• Burnham-on-Crouch, 71.3 per cent
• Maldon South, 69.6 per cent
Areas with the lowest coverage:
• Heybridge, 64.8 per cent
• Maldon North, 65 per cent
• Southminster, Bradwell & Dengie Peninsula, 66.1 per cent
