A pro-active family have been helping clear up after being shocked by the amount of rubbish dumped.

Isabella, 9 and Luca Flain, 6, from Heybridge were left shocked on their family walks over Christmas at the amount of rubbish dumped in hedgerows.

Armed with litter pickers and bin bags the siblings and their mum set about clearing the rubbish in the Beeleigh area.

Isabella said people have just tossed their rubbish anywhere due to the lack of bins.

She said: "Where the cars pull in close-by to Beeleigh Abbey people have literally emptied entire contents of rubbish from their cars.

"There are no bins anywhere near this walk or a dog poo bin and so people just toss bags everywhere."

The family went out twice in one week to collect a staggering amount of rubbish.

They are hoping some bins will be installed in the near future.
