A new experience is being launched to help local companies get back on their feet after coronavirus.

Promenade Park in Maldon will play host to a new Grape and Grain experience, celebrating local produce, vineyards and breweries to help support their economic recovery after lockdown.

The experience will run from Thursday to Sunday and aimed at those who wish to drink responsibly whilst enjoying some of the best locally produced beer and wine.

Eleanor Taylor, events organiser is working in partnership with Events Factor, a specialist events company, well known in Maldon.

She said: ““The local producers are very pleased to have been given an additional opportunity in which to sell their locally produced ‘Grape and Grain’ and they have been extremely supportive.

“We are also pleased that local producer Tiptree, is on board and will be selling their gins.

“In addition, we will be selling a Maldon Pimms, using fruit from the local greengrocers at the Emporium to further support the High Street.”

The initiative will support businesses and producers who have suffered during the pandemic and will provide them with an opportunity to showcase their produce.

It will also employ local staff in Maldon and Maldon Salt will be helping supply a Maldon Salt Bloody Mary.

Cllr Adrian Fluker, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: “We are pleased to be supporting this new initiative in Promenade Park which provides our local beer and wine producers a new opportunity to sell their products and aid their business recovery.

“The initiative is aimed at those who would like to experience fine local wine and beer in a beautiful setting and will be priced accordingly.”

Grape and Grain is open in Maldon Promenade Park from 12 until dusk from Thursday to Sunday.
