ACTOR Terry Mollory has had a varied career.
He played Davros, the creator of the Daleks in Dr Who during the 1980s and for 38 years he has played Mike Tucker, in Radio 4’s long-running series the Archers.
Terry is coming to the Civic Theatre, Chelmsford, next month in The Lady Vanishes. He said: “Someone said to me recently you have been in two of the most iconic programmes of the past century. I replied less of the last century, but I knew what they meant.”
Terry has not performed in Chelmsford before and says his only connection has been with Writtle College, which his son attended.
“I remember I used to take him there and we would go out for something to eat in Chelmsford. I am looking forward to appearing there.”
The play started its national tour last year and Terry is playing the Austrian brain surgeon Dr Egon Hartz in a tale of espionage.
He said: “I am enjoying it immensely. I have not been in the theatre for a while and when the opportunity to do it came along, I jumped at it. The Lady Vanishes is one of my favourite Hitchcock films.”
The Lady Vanishes is at the Civic from Thursday, March 4, to Saturday, March 6. Tickets are £15, concessions £13. Contact the box office on 01245 606505.
