A PENSIONER was left with serious head injuries after a road traffic collision between a bus he was travelling on, and a pedal cyclist.
On Saturday, at around 10.45am, in North Avenue, Chelmsford, the bus travelling towards Melbourne Avenue was in collision with the cyclist.
The crash resulted in the man, in his 90s, who was a passenger, receiving serious injuries.
The pensioner, from Chelmsford, was taken by air ambulance to Queen's Hospital in Romford.
An 18-year-old man from Chelmsford has since been arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous cycling. He is currently in police custody.
Police are looking for witnesses to the collision.
