A MAN was arrested after police pulled over a car and found a metal extendable baton in the driver's door.
Officers deployed on Operation Sceptre - an operation aimed at disrupting knife crime - stopped a Jaguar in Colchester yesterday.
A spokesman for the borough's community policing team said: "The vehicle was stopped and the officers quickly noticed this very obvious extendable baton in the driver's door compartment.
"The baton shown in the photos may look wooden but is in fact a very very rusty metal baton."
The driver of the car was arrested and taken to custody for questioning.
