A MUM who lost more than a third of her body weight in less than a year says her weight loss has helped her live life without fear.

When Colchester resident Tansy Arnett joined Slimming World in November 2019 she weighed 18 stone.

Ten months later and Tansy's weight has plummeted to 11 stone 6oz and is still on the decline.

The mother-of-three said: "I was so fed up of feeling the negative physical side effects of weight gain - feeling really hot all the time, sore knees and hips, the pressure of the extra weight on my tummy when I sat down, clothes being uncomfortable and so on.

"I was concerned for my health and was lacking confidence. I didn't recognise myself anymore."

After being recommended Slimming World by a friend the 29-year-old decided to give it a go for herself, quickly notice changes.

"I have dedicated myself to changing my terrible eating habits, following the plan and becoming more active which is massively encouraged but not a necessity," she said.

"The plan is good because it encourages lifestyle change instead of a diet and creates meals which can be enjoyed by the whole family.

"It also is a plan that means you never have to turn down meals out or special occasions.

"Going to group each week has been vital, even during lockdown we had our virtual groups. It is where you get all your support and pick up tips. My consultant Vicky is an incredible support."

Chelmsford Weekly News:

Tansy has set up an Instagram page @tansyslimmingworld detailing her journey, and now hopes to inspire others on their weight loss journeys.

She said: "My weight loss has improved my quality of life.

"I'm no longer extremely obese which makes me worry less, especially with the fear of Covid-19 and it effecting people who are overweight more.

"I don't have the anxiety about my health so much, I also feel confident and sexy in my skin.

"I can now run for long periods of time but my biggest victory was feeling confident enough to wear shorts."
