I COMPLETELY agree with Sir Bob Russell, all these cycle paths will affect business (“‘Businesses will be hurt by cycle plans’”).
There are too many cycle paths in the wrong places.
I live just off Winstree Road in Stanway, you can count the number of cyclists using this particular path in a day on one hand.
As for changing the roundabout at the Albert, I have lived in Colchester all my life, how many more times are they going to change it?
I am not against cyclists, but they seem to have more right on the roads than car users.
Not all but many jump the lights, ride on normal paths and weave in and out of traffic.
If the car user were to do this, they would be summonsed.
If you are involved in an accident with a cyclist, most have no insurance to pay for any damage to your vehicle, if it’s their fault.

The car user pays out a huge amount of money each year to use the roads, it’s about time some of this money is spent on repairing the roads rather than spending it for cyclists, who pay nothing to use the roads.
