THE A120 has reopened after an overturned lorry was rescued.

The Essex Roads Policing Unit North has confirmed both sides of the carriageway are open again following a two-vehicle crash.

The smash, which happened around 8am this morning, left a lorry stranded on its side between Coggeshall and Bradwell.

Both sides of the carriageway were said to be blocked and drivers faced long delays.

Police urged motorists to find an alternative route as they closed the road to allow for the recovery of the lorry.

Bus company First Essex tweeted to say there were long delays to its services between Braintree and Colchester.

The lorry was eventually rescued by 11.30am and police have now confirmed the road is open to traffic again.

Officers say those involved in the collision suffered minor injuries.

East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
