A PRIMARY school has pledged to help raise £2,000 to help youngsters with their mental health.
Willlow Brook Primary School in Colchester are working with Amazing Minds to raise the vital cash.
The organisation has a scheme called A Quid a Kid and believe they can help youngsters with their mental health for as little as £1 each, however funding was wiped out during the coronavirus lockdown.
Willow Brook headteacher Joanna Ronayne said the programme had been a huge success at the school.
"The Amazing Me programme has helped our children feel calmer and more open to talking about their emotions, so we want to ensure that they continue to have access," she said.
"There has never been a more important time to speak about mental health and wellbeing, as families have had to adapt to new ways of learning in these challenging times.
" Some children will be feeling sad and anxious because of the educational experience they are missing, as well as possibly strained family relations or feelings of isolation.
"We must come together as a community to build the resilience of our children - they need us now more than ever."
Tracy Richardson, director of Amazing Minds CIC said: "We base all of our programmes on the scientific research that comes out of the field of positive psychology.
"So we look at what we know works, and we build that into our programme."
