NO new deaths have been confirmed at the trust which runs Colchester Hospital, latest figures show.

It is the first time since May 18 the East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust has announced no new Covid-19 related deaths.

A total of 333 patients have died at the trust after contracting the virus since the start of the outbreak.

Across the county a further four patients have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

The latest NHS England figures show the four patients died at two different trusts in Essex.

The deaths were registered in the 24 hours up to 5pm on Monday.

Two more patients have died at the Southend Hospital Trust, bringing its total to 207.

Another two deaths were confirmed at the Mid Essex Hospitals Trust bringing its death toll to 190.

A further 143 people, who tested positive for Coronavirus have died at hospitals in England.

The patients were aged between 36 and 100 years old. Eight of the 143 patients, aged between 48 and 91, had no known underlying health conditions.

It brings the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals to 26,865.
