IN the days after the Gazette published its four page supplement paying tribute to our community heroes, we were inundated with the names of more people who deserved to be on the list.

We are happy to honour them. Here are some of their stories.

Reader Carla nominated Kimberly Gall who works in the emergency department at Colchester Hospital.

Carla said: “She looked after my husband and comforted him when he was so scared.

“She took the time to explain everything to us and stayed by his side up until he had to have his procedure. She went far and beyond.

“I want to thank her and I would love to be nominated at a true NHS hero.”

Graham Henshall nominated the team at Harwich International Port.

He said: “I would like to nominate Sandra Henshall , Gavin Driver and Hayley Shaw supervisors at Harwich International Port.

“They along with the rest of their teams working for Stena Line, are keeping the freight moving between Harwich and Holland, bringing in much needed supplies.”

Lynn Burling said: “Andrea Tuckwell is a midwife and a trained nurse, she is the antenatal clinic manager but at the moment is using her nursing skills in ICU at Colchester Hospital.

“We are very proud of her and look forward to seeing her back with us in the antenatal clinic in the very near future.”

Jo Letch nominated the team at Abberton Manor Nursing Home.

She said: “They all work so hard and never grumble, no matter what they face in a days work, they all face it head on, all care homes are still frontline workers.”

Phoebe Lobb nominated Colin De’ath who is a supervisor for Iceland foods at Turner Rise in Colchester.

She said: “He’s 23 and works incredibly hard to fill the frozen goods throughout the day so customers have things to buy.

“He does 16 hour shifts most days and stays late until all the jobs are done.”

Tilly Gilbert nominated the team at Home Farm Primary School, describing them as “amazing”.

She said: “Mr Holton has run a live YouTube video daily from his home and school to keep the kids in touch.

“He runs quizzes and lets the kids send pictures and videos of their work in. It’s the highlight of the children’s day.

“Also Boots in Earls Colne really deserves a mention as they are working tirelessly to keep everything running. “
