A further four patients have died at the trust which runs Colchester Hospital after contracting Covid-19, latest figures have shown.

The data, from NHS England, brings the death toll at the East Suffolk and North Essex trust to 286.

Across the trusts which serve Essex a further 12 people have died.

Three people have lost their lives at Southend Hospital and three people have died at the Mid Essex Hospitals Trust.

Another two deaths were also recorded at the Basildon and Thurrock Trust.

A further 332 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 22,764.

Patients were aged between six weeks and 103 years old. 22 of the 332 patients (aged between 40 and 96 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.
