A further three patients have died at the trust which runs Colchester Hospital after contracting Covid-19, latest figures have shown.
The data, from NHS England, brings the death toll at the East Suffolk and North Essex trust to 249.
Two of the deaths happened on Wednesday and one on Tuesday.
Nick Hulme, Chief Executive for East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We can confirm that three patients, one in their 90s, one in their 80s, and one in their 50s, all of whom had underlying health conditions, have sadly passed away at Colchester Hospital.
"They had all tested positive for COVID-19.
“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”
Across the trusts which serve Essex a further 11 people have died.
Four people have lost their lives at Southend, three people at the Mid Essex trust and one at the Princess Alexandra in Harlow.
