A MAN was found with a knife at Colchester Hospital.

Paul Clarkson, 45, had the blade at the Turner Road site in March last year.

He admitted possession of a knife during an appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.

Clarkson, of Chinook, Colchester, is due to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court in April.

  • A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for 17 weeks.

Kaley Hodgkinson, 30, stole a bottle of wine from a One Stop shop in Colchester in February.

She has also damaged a window and four crates of beer at the store and assaulted a man.

Hodgkinson, of Charles Pell Road, Colchester, admitted assault, criminal damage and theft at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court.

  • A WOMAN has been handed a suspended prison term for a drunken assault.

Valeria Pachevska attacked another woman in Colchester in February last year.

The 20-year-old admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Colchester Magistrates' Court heard she had stopped using drugs and cut back on booze.

Pachevska, of Dale Close, Stanway, must pay £600 compensation, a £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

She was given a 18 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and must do 200 hours of unpaid work.

Ross Bailey, 34, took the sleepwear from Primark in Colchester shortly before Christmas.

He admitted theft at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

Bailey, of Avon Way, Colchester, was fined £120.

He must a £32 victim surcharge and £105 costs.

  • A THIEF has been jailed for ten weeks.

Daniel Archer, of Willingham Way, Colchester admitted stealing from several shops in the town when he appeared at court.

The 33-year-old must also pay £101.20 in compensation.

Terry Clark, 55, took two bottles of perfume worth £80 from TK Maxx and was caught with the potential weapon.

He admitted possession of a bladed article, theft and committing offences during a suspended sentence order at Colchester Magistrates' Court.

Clark, of King George Road, Colchester, must pay £267 in court charges when he is released.

  • A THIEF has been jailed for stealing £140 worth of goods from a sports shop.

John McGuire, 29, of King George Road, Colchester, took the items from JD Sports in Colchester town centre.

He admitted theft at Colchester Magistrates' Court and was jailed for six weeks.
