A GARDEN centre has donated £350 worth of houseplants to bring some eco-joy to offices at the Colchester Hospital.

Perrywood Garden Centre in Tiptree donated the plants and Louise Smith, communications manager at Perrywood, said: “We were really impressed by the amount of staff who turned up to receive their houseplants. It is great to see so many people keen to green up their office space.”

In the past few years, the centre has donated plants to 28 primary schools in a bid to green up classrooms and to get children interested in plants as well as donating plants to offices at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

It is well known houseplants can be highly beneficial to health including helping to boost concentration, improve air quality and reduce stress.
