Police close busy road due to ongoing incident near hospital
POLICE blocked off a section of a busy road in Colchester due to concerns for a woman's welfare.
Officers used a vehicle to block part of Turner Road, near to Colchester Hospital, at around 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Traffic queues built up in both directions whilst police were at the scene.
Some bus services were diverted in order to avoid the queues, which stretched back towards Mill Road and the A134.
A spokesman for Essex Police said the woman was left in the care of medical professionals. Delays began to ease by 3.20pm.
