Colchester Carnival is back this weekend after a two year break.
Firefighters have taken over the running of Colchester Carnival and participants were able to enter for free for the first time.
The procession theme will be Colchester and Proud.
For six years up to 2016 it had been run by Colchester Round Table and Colchester Ladies Circle but they decided to take a step back.
It will be the first time the Colchester firefighters have organised this kind of event.
When and where is it happening?
The procession will start at 6pm and take its usual route, starting from Circular Road North, then proceeding along Butt Road, Head Street and the High Street before finishing outside Colchester Castle.
What can you expect if you are going along to watch?
More than 50 entrants are expected to take part in the procession with dancing, music and floats.
There will be a vast array of decorated lorries, bands, blue light vehicles as well as a good offering of military vehicles.
Why is it being held in September?
The carnival was previously held in July but it was felt a September date would attract more supporters.
