OFFICERS are investigating after reports that a parent left a child in a hot car at a city retail park.
Police were contacted just before 6.30pm yesterday, with reports of a child being left in a vehicle at around 4.50pm that afternoon, at which time the temperature in Chelmsford was 20 degrees.
The informant was concerned for the child, who remained in the car while the parent appeared to go into a shop at the retail park on Victoria Road.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Police were contacted just before 6.30pm on Thursday, July 13, with reports that at around 4.50pm that afternoon the informant was concerned for a child who had been left inside a car while it appeared the parent went in to a shop at the Riverside Retail Park in Chelmsford.
“Officers are making enquiries.”
