STUDENTS and staff from New Hall School in Chelmsford were given an unusual canvas to celebrate The Big Draw... a Mini Cooper!
The car was lent to the school by Cooper Chelmsford Mini where it will soon return to be displayed in the showroom. It was decorated by year nine art students with support from Mr Hughes, Head of Art, on New Hall School’s open morning last weekend.
The Big Draw 2014 is the world’s biggest drawing festival that will run until November 2 across the UK and 20 other countries. 280,000 people are expected to join in over 1,000 events which connect people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers, illustrators and each other.
The New Hall School Art department takes part in the Big Draw initiative every October, using the school grounds or other sources as inspiration.
Principal, Katherine Jeffrey, said: “I am continually impressed with the high standard of work that is produced in our Art department. This project once again goes to show that no challenge is too great for our inventive students.
“Our thanks goes to the team at Cooper Chelmsford Mini for so generously lending us the car which delivered so much excitement to our students this year.”
