FIND a new hobby at an exciting programme of crafts events throughout February.

The Ingatestone Garden Centre has teamed up with the Guild of Essex Craftsmen for the first time to stage more than 10 artistic events during the month.

Art exhibitions, knitting workshops and camera clubs are just a few of the events that will take place in the conservatory of the horticultural centre, in Roman Road, Ingatestone.

Celia Reed, chair of the guild, said she was thrilled when the association was approached to work on a joint project with the garden centre.

She said: “They have a similar, community minded outlook to the guild, so we are pleased to be working with them.

“The events not only promote genuine craft but encourage members of the public to come and look at how things are made, or join in and to have a go.

“Trying a taster day at a craft you have been interested in could lead to a new hobby.

“I will be taking part in some of them myself.”

The events take place between 10.30am and 4pm on weekday and Saturdays, and from 11am to 3pm on Sundays.

Mrs Reed added: “If the signs say open, then please just pop in and see what is going on.”
