Tickets for the always popular Maldon pantomime, by the Maldon Pantomime Society (Maps), will be on general sale from December 1.

This year the production will be The Wizard of Oz and features all the favourites from the cowardly lion, the tin-man and the girl from Kansas’s best friends the scarecrow and Toto the dog.

Opening night will be Friday January 23 with further shows on Saturday 24, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 January. Matinee performances will also be held on both Saturdays.

Rehearsals are well underway with sets built and costumes being made but the show is still missing a drummer.

Anyone who would like to volunteer and complete the band is asked to call Maps chairman Roy Williamson on 01621 892498.

Tickets are available from the Maldon tourist information centre in Wenlock Way.
