A major Essex route is experiencing disruption following a crash.

The exit slip road on the A13 westbound at the A126 Lakeside turn-off is reportedly closed after a collision, with traffic reported to be very slow towards the M25.

Congestion is building in the area, stretching back towards the Baker Street Interchange.

Essex Police have confirmed that the incident was a collision between a motorbike and a car.

Air ambulance and ambulance colleagues attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "Officers remain at the scene where a collision involving a motorcycle and car took place at about 11.45am.

"Our enquiries are ongoing.

"There is still traffic in the area and drivers should check before they travel."

The extent of any injuries is not yet clear.

East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
