Colchester Zoo is looking to fill an exciting key role as it continues to welcome more than one million visitors each year.
The popular Essex attraction has announced a vacancy for a mechanic and plant and fleet technician to help keep its wide range of vehicles and equipment running safely and efficiently.
Colchester Zoological Society, which is home to more than 150 species, is known for its global conservation work and award-winning visitor experience.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated team ensures the zoo operates smoothly day-to-day.
The new role will involve inspecting, servicing and repairing a variety of equipment, including fleet vehicles such as vans, pickups and trailers, as well as construction plant machinery, hydraulic systems, pressure washers and handheld petrol-powered tools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance and ensuring all machinery remains compliant with safety standards.

They will also be expected to respond to breakdowns, carry out emergency repairs and maintain accurate service and inspection records.
Zoo bosses say they are looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious and practical, with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Applicants should have proven experience as a mechanic, plant fitter or fleet technician, along with a solid understanding of diesel and petrol engines, hydraulic systems and small engine repairs.
A relevant mechanical qualification and full UK driving licence are preferred.
The full-time, permanent role is based on a five-day working week, with hours set at 7am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
The position will involve both workshop and field-based work, including manual handling and the use of specialist equipment.
