In just a few days drivers using the A120 are to face diversions of up to 33 miles due to works beginning.

Those using the A-road near Braintree are being warned by National Highways with the overnight closures between Galleys Corner and Marks Farm.

The work includes resurfacing, refreshing road markings and studs, and repairing technology equipment such as roadside systems and signals.

All work is scheduled overnight between 8pm and 6am to minimise disruption to daytime traffic.

The diversion means for drivers to get to the Marks Farm roundabout, they will have to drive via the A131 to Boreham, then along the A12 to Marks Tey, and then all the way back along the A120.
