A teenager has been banned from a busy Colchester retail area following reports of anti-social behaviour.
Police say the order comes as part of ongoing efforts to tackle issues raised by the public, with officers increasing patrols in areas residents say they are concerned about.
While in the Tollgate area, officers arrested a 15-year-old boy from Colchester on suspicion of theft and common assault.
He was later charged and has since been handed a court-imposed curfew, fitted with an electronic tag, and banned from returning to the area.

A spokesperson said: “As part of our ongoing work to tackle anti-social behaviour, our officers have been in the areas you tell us you’re concerned about, helping us respond quickly and stay visible in the community.
“We understand the impact anti-social behaviour can have and will continue working with local organisations and the community to help prevent issues and keep people safe.”
