A PLUSH restaurant will open on Southend seafront in September as part of a £125million development.

Roughly 90 per cent of the 51 homes at the new Clifftown Shore apartment complex have now officially been sold, with bosses confident the project will be complete within months.

Below the flats, on Western Esplanade, Southend, will be an up-market restaurant with a pan-pacific menu, which bosses are confident will open during September.

Alongside a gym and secure parking, the building also includes a restaurant and decadent cocktail bar, run by the Colchester-based Elysium Group, all under a state-of-the-art “green living roof ”.

The project has been years in the making, built on the site of the old Esplanade pub and the Marriott’s fish restaurant next door.

James Struth, managing director at Clifftown Shore, said: “We are delighted with the development; it is far more stunning than we had imagined it would be.

“The final part of seeing the buyers enjoying their new homes is really satisfying.

“The residents are great; it seems to be really nice and fun place to live.

“We can see friendship groups establishing making it clear that the community has a great future.

“All construction work is completed, the building is about 50 per cent occupied now, and we are 90 per cent sold.

“The restaurant fit out is going well and should open in September, ready to provide room service to the luxury flats.”

The Clifftown Shore project has 51 apartments and penthouses ranging from £295,000 to £575,000.

The restaurant will offer food lovers a menu designed around the culinary fusions of North and South America, the Polynesian islands, eastern Asia, and Australia.

Lucy O’Brien, marketing consultant at Home of Leigh added: “There are only a few remaining apartments at Southend’s new iconic building.

“Since the scaffolding has come down and the building has been revealed the interest in the building has been incredible and the apartments are selling fast.

“The position of the building has been popular, and people are very enthusiastic about all the facilities we have to offer including concierge, bike store, gym, and car park.

“The sea views are amazing, and the park view apartments offer tranquillity away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront.”
