THE CCTV image of a man that police want to speak to in connection to last night’s incident has been released.

Detectives are investigating an assault in Southend yesterday evening which left a man with stab wounds to his neck and stomach.

A man was attacked in Marine Parade shortly before 8.10pm.

He has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A Section 60 Authority, where officers can carry out stop and searches without reasonable grounds and a dispersal order was put in place in response to this and a number of other incidents.

Essex Police do not believe this incident poses an ongoing risk to the wider public.

They are appealing for anyone who saw anything, has any footage, or recognises the man pictured to contact them.
