CALLUM Powell feels joining Southend United is a ‘massive opportunity’ for his career.
Powell has joined from Kettering Town for an undisclosed fee.
And the striker cannot wait to get started with the Shrimpers.
"It’s a massive opportunity and I’m really grateful to Southend for giving me the platform to kick on and show what I’m about,” said Powell.
"Since I spoke to the club, I’ve been really excited about everything that's going on and the project that is happening here.
"I’m going to do everything I can to help the team get to where they want to get to and fulfil my own aspirations and goals as well.”
Powell has scored 14 goals already this season but is now determined to kick on with Blues.
"I’ve worked extremely hard for this opportunity, and I’ve proven myself and scored a lot of goals this season but that’s not to stop now,” said Powell.
“It’s for me to kick on again with a great club like Southend and take my journey to a new level, scoring more goals, making more things happen and winning more games.
"I can’t wait to get my teeth into it and I’m looking forward to Saturday and starting this journey as I mean to go on.”
