CALLUM Powell has edged closer to joining Southend United after the striker confirmed he would be leaving Kettering.
Powell has scored 14 goals for the Poppies this season.
And he took to social media to thank Kettering for giving him a chance to impress.
Powell said: “My time at Kettering has come to an end. I couldn’t be more grateful to have spent the last year at a better club around great people, players and fans.
“You have welcomed and supported me since I signed and provided me with a platform to showcase my ability.
“Thank you and I wish you all the best for the rest of the season.”
The Shrimpers are also believed to be in talks with an attacking midfielder from a lower level.
