THE organisers of a programme of equality events have announced planning for next year’s celebrations is already underway – but they need the public’s help.
Clacton Pride is dedicated to making Tendring “a more tolerant and fun place to live” for residents and visitors from all walks of life.
Since hosting their very first in-person event in August, to champion diversity and the LGBTQ+ community, the group has held a range of fundraising nights.
Cheryl Piper, of Clacton Pride, has now proudly revealed the movement will continue to gather momentum into next year with a variety of celebratory events.
“Clacton Pride is going from strength to strength since the first pride event in August,” added campaigner Cheryl.
“Planning is already under way for Pride 2022 and fundraising nights have also picked up in the last couple of months.
“The team want to thank the community for their positive response and support in bringing Pride to the town, something which in fact has surprised many people.”
Cheryl is now calling on supporters of the equality group to donate to the cause in order to help organisers make next year’s events the best they can be.
She also wants to make people aware of the fact the group’s digital presence was recently hacked which has had a knock-on effect.
She said: “Clacton pride needs your help, because it has come to our attention people and businesses have donated to us, but the committee has not received the items.
“As announced before, a former committee member banned the committee from our email and social media pages and none of these have been restored to us.
“However, we managed to set up new pages within hours.

“Clacton is a great place and the community comes together when needed. So let’s show just how great our town is and the people in it can be.”
