Police have arrested a driver after a man was attacked with a hammer on Canvey.
The incident happened late last night (Monday, May 10) and eventually led to a suspect being arrested by police a few hours later.
Officers from Essex Police's dog and roads policing unit made the arrest after stopping a vehicle just after midnight.
They found bound a hammer and knife inside the car during a quick search.
The roads policing unit says the driver was arrested in connection with multiple offences and is now being quizzed by officers.
