A YOUNG entrepreneur is over the moon after seeing business boom for her new boutique after it opened following months of lockdown restrictions.

Bobby-Jean Gillam, 23, from Halstead, reopened her Bobby Bobs Salon on April 12.

The former Ramsey Academy pupil first opened her business on The Centre, off Halstead High Street, in 2016, aged just 18.

Bobby also opened a new clothing boutique in her salon.

And she is delighted after seeing it become a hit with shoppers.

She said: “From the day we opened, we have been super busy, with new faces wandering in, as well as lots of sales.

“The response has been great and the age dynamic throughout has been so vast too which I love. All shapes, sizes and ages are loving the clothes.

“All my items are between £10-£30 so really reasonable. I’ve had some really lovely comments, and private messages.

“I’m so pleased and, to be truthful, it’s quite overwhelming. I work so so hard and it’s slowly paying off.”

The new boutique offers a range of ladieswear, ranging from size six to 32.

Following the boom, Bobby has now set her sights on owning her first home.

She said: “Me and my other half, Callum, have started to view houses. So our goal is to be in our first home by Christmas if we can.

“The demand has been tough for hair. Everyone wanted 9am on April 12 but there is only so much I can do.

“I have also stayed strict with my hours to keep my health first. Otherwise I will burn out and will be good to no one.

“The boutique has tied in really nicely with the salon.

“People come and go as they please. I just wanted an atmosphere for people to feel they can walk in and not have to buy anything.

“I’m working seven days a week to keep the shop booming. Tuesdays and Sundays are closed but usually our lounge at home is full of stock, as well as postal orders and social media.

“I’m so incredibly grateful for everyone’s kindness.”
