A SCORNED woman left her partner needing stitches after he dumped her hours after she shelled out heaps of cash on him.

Kerry Saunderson attacked her former boyfriend in a fit of rage when he ended their relationship after the pair “enjoyed a day out together”.

The 29-year-old, of Muir Place, Wickford, treated her partner to a day out where she splashed the cash on food, drink and activities.

But during the day, the court heard the man came to the decision that he was going to end the relationship.

When the pair returned home, he told her he wanted to break up - leading to a huge row.

The row largely centred on Saunderson’s frustrations that she had spent “a lot of money” on him that day, only for him to dump her later.

The argument led to her throwing objects at him, including a glass - resulting in a cut to his forearm which needed three stitches.

Saunderson was arrested and later charged with causing actual bodily harm.

She appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterday where she admitted the charge.

Christ Whitcombe, mitigating, told the court Saunderson had abided by her bail conditions since the incident took place on January 11 this year..

He said: “Hopefully he [the ex partner] will take some comfort in that he will not have a court appearance hanging over him.”

Judge Samantha Leigh told Saunderson: “You would have been aware he had difficulties.

He had a car accident and had difficulties there. I am aware you have your own difficulties as well.

“In my opinion, baring in mind everything I have read and seen about you the most appropriate sentence is a three year community order with 90 days rehabilitation and 100 hours unpaid work.”

Saunderson will also pay £200 compensation and was given a restraining order meaning she cannot contact him for two years.
