A FOOTBALL club has delivered a donation to its community foodbank after members and players came together to make a collection.

Committee members from St. Martins FC recently came together with the foodbank, based at the village centre, to make the donation.

Club chairman Terry Ellis said they were delighted to play their part in ensuring people in St Martins did not go hungry.

He said: "St Martins FC has a long and fascinating history significantly influenced by the community, so proudly pledge their commitment to that community.

"We were delighted to support the St. Martins community foodbank’ by donating food gathered together by the club members.

" We met with volunteers, Paula Pugh, Keith Allum, Angela Herbert and Heather Jones to present the food to the foodbank."

Paula added: “A big thank you to St Martins FC for the generous donations we received, it will be a great benefit to us because we lost our largest sponsor recently.

"Donations like these are invaluable to us to keep on supporting many families in the community. If you live in St Martins or have children who attend St Martins School and have been affected by Covid-19 you will be eligible for support, please do not go short, let us help.”

The foodbank is open Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30-7.30pm or donate at Stans Superstore or at one of the drop off points around the village.
