A MAP showing the number of positive coronavirus cases in country has revealed a rise in cases in Halstead.

The online map, which is part of the Government's coronavirus data dashboard, was recently updated to show the figures taken from October 1 to October 7.

The map is based on pillar 1 and pillar 2 testing data from Public Health England.

Previously, Halstead showed low numbers with cases in the zero to two range.

However, the most recent update has revealed three cases of the virus have been recorded in the town.

The map also revealed rises in cases in nearby areas such as Steeple Bumpstead and Great Yeldham which doubled to six positive cases.

The Panfield, Finchingfield and Bardfield area has recorded five positive cases while Coggeshall recorded six and Marks Tey and Wakes Colne recorded seven.

Fortunately, the Hedingham, Gosfield and Greenstead Green area, which recorded three cases last week has gone down back to the zero to two range.
