THE death of a man who was found in a canal is not being treated as suspicious.
Police officers were called by the ambulance service to the Leeds and Liverpool canal close to Healey Wood Road in Burnley on Tuesday morning following reports of a body in the water.
A man was retrieved from the water and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death was launched.
However, the police have now confirmed the incident is being treated as non-suspicious.
Yesterday A police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service at 8.30am today (September 29th) following the discovery of a man’s body in the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, close to Healey Wood Road, Burnley.”
A file has been passed to the coroner.
