CHARITY bosses are welcoming back youngsters for the first time since the lockdown.

PARC is running summer holiday camps throughout the next five weeks its headquarters at Great Notley.

The charity provides respite care for anyone below 25 who has additional needs and offers sensory rooms.

Bosses were forced to stop offering out their sensory rooms and playground back in March due to the coronavirus lockdown.

But after getting the go ahead from Government, PARC has now reopened and is looking after a handful of children during the summer holidays.

A spokesman said: "The team at PARC have pulled out all the stops and are providing 25 full days of Summer Holiday fun this summer.

"Many new measures have been put in place in line with the government guidelines such as keeping small groups of children in bubbles and a one-way system around the building.

"However, all the children coped with it brilliantly and were thrilled to be back."

Service manager Lawrence Lubbock said: "We are so excited to be open again and see all the children this summer.

"We've had to make some changes but it won't get in the way of being able to offer our usual excellent summer holiday scheme."
