FIRE crews from across Hampshire have been hard at work this weekend tackling a number of incidents across the county. 

As reported by Hampshire Fire Control, crews have dealt with a total of eight fires in both Hampshire and neighbouring counties today. 

Crews from Eastleigh were called to extinguish a small fire in the open at 9.28am this morning. The fire was on Chilworth Drive in Southampton and was extinguished this morning. 

At 10.21am, a crew from St Mary's was called to extinguish a fire in a tree stump on Hoglands Park in Southampton

 Crews from Romsey, Eastleigh, Redbridge and Fordingbridge were called to a field fire along Bunny Lane in Sherfield English at 11.37am. 

 At 12.48pm, a crew from Hightown was called to a fire in the lounge of a ground floor property in Sholing. The crew used two breathing apparatus, one hosereel and ventilated the property on Kathleen Road. 

One crew from Brockenhurst was called to an unattended fire near Pignall Hill in Brockenhurst at 1.32pm. 

At 1.36pm, a crew from Hardley investigated a small fire in the open near Calshot Road in Fawley. 

Earlier this morning, at 7.43am, a crew from Hayling Island were called to a possible yacht fire at Sparkes Marina in Hayling Island. 

The fire was a false alarm and was revealed to have been an over-heated clutch. 

Outside of Hampshire, a crew from Rushmoor was called to Farnham at 8.14am to assist with a heath fire near Frensham Great Pond. 

At 9.25am, one crew from Horndean dealt with a small fire caused by a toaster at a property in Charles Street, Petersfield.
