A rider was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Southend.

Police are now urgently appealing for key witnesses who may have seen the incident, which saw a man in his 40s crash into a central kerb and land in the centre of a roundabout as he had left Fossetts Way.

A man and a woman inside a white car, described as being a the similar size and shape to a Vauxhall Corsa, stopped to help the rider but left before police could attend.

The rider, who was on a black Suzuki, was taken to hospital for treatment with serious injuries after the accident which took place yesterday (June 29).

A spokesperson from Essex Police said; "We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision in Southend and, in particular, want to speak to two people who may be key witnesses.

"We need to trace the man and the woman and speak to them as they are potentially key witnesses to the collision.

"If you saw the collision, have any dash cam footage, recognise the two people who stopped or believe you are them, we need you to call us on 101 quoting incident 895 of 29 June.
