Armed police descended on a Benfleet trading estate after receiving reports a firearm was spotted at the site.
On Friday afternoon, around 4pm, armed officers took to the Manor Trading Estate after receiving reports that a firearm was seen inside a vehicle on the estate.
After managing to find the car in question, it was searched along with two other men who were at the scene.
Essex Police have confirmed that no weapons were found and no arrests were made.
Enquiries are ongoing.
