A DRIVER attempting to visit Southend to enjoy the sun got a nasty surprise yesterday when his car was seized by police.
The driver was travelling from Stratford to Southend for a day trip to enjoy the Saturday warm weather.
However, their trip was cut short when they were pulled over by Essex Police officers.
While the driver was travelling for a non-essential journey, that proved to be the least of his worries when officers discovered he was driving without a licence or any insurance.
The driver was reported by police and his car, a Renault Clio, was seized.
Travelling from Stratford to Southend on Sea for a day trip is not an essential journey nor part of your daily exercise. Driving here in a vehicle with No Insurance and not having a Driving Licence is even more silly. Vehicle seized, driver reported - CF/CG pic.twitter.com/wG4cAh5rwx
