A 48-YEAR-OLD man has sadly died in Warrington Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19.
He is the youngest person in the town to pass away as a result of contracting the virus.
The man did not have an underlying health condition.
Warrington Hospital confirmed that a 91-year-old woman passed away on Monday, March 30 after testing positive for Covid-19.
The Trust also confirmed that a 72-year-old man died on Wednesday.
Both patients had an underlying health condition.
A spokesperson for the Trust said: "Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients' families and loved ones at this difficult time."
Over the weekend, four patients died on Friday and one on Saturday bringing the town's death toll to 14.
As of yesterday, Sunday 122 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Warrington.
This total does not include residents who could have coronavirus but have not been tested as they are in self-isolation after showing symptoms.
Across the UK, 4,934 people have now died and 47,806 have tested positive for coronavirus.
